The Strips paintings are each a foot tall, with variable widths, and are made to mix and match to form different meanings. They depict the overflow chatter of the mind, bringing in ideas and imagery that can’t be contained in other projects. They reference politics, personal history, and found culture, sourced from everywhere and anywhere including my own archive, TV, media, and images I run into in the world. Installed above, below, and amongst other works, they become architectural, like molding, friezes, or predellas found underneath altarpieces, and add a secondary layer of commentary and framing.
